The Colonnades

The Colonnades are formed of five spaces: Boat Stall Lane and the Medieval East Gate, Boat Stall Lane Vaults, New Market Row Vaults, The Undercroft and the Colonnades themselves.

Formed of listed building and a schedule monument, this area has undergone many changes throughout the centuries but currently the site remains vacant and unused.

There are many complexities and constraints that need to be overcome to realise the development of these spaces. The Masterplan look to resolve these and bring forward meanwhiles space whilst a longer term proposals are prepared.

Policy SB2 supports the creative reuse of the voids and vaults in and around the Colonnades and improved access to the riverside.
