Masterplan
A Masterplan, also referred to as a ‘Urban Design Framework’ or a ‘Development Brief’, is a strategic planning tool to use to illustrate proposed changes in a given site or area over a period of time.
Masterplans are all different, and there is not set format, but typically they will describe the ambitions for a site or area, the outputs required to realise these ambitions and the strategies required to implement the outputs.
The Bath Central Riverside Masterplan
The Bath Central Riverside Masterplan will encompass six key project sites. These include Manvers Street, Terrace Walk, the Guildhall Market, Pulteney Bridge, the Colonnades and Parade Gardens. The overarching aim of the 20 year Masterplan is to realise the Local Plan’s ambition for this area and ultimately deliver benefits for residents, businesses and visitors. This will be achieved by unlocking public and private investment and enabling development to fulfil the area’s potential.
